The Montana Paintings
Montana: mountains, wildlife, Glacier, The Real West, horses, Remington and Russell, big sky, Indian country. A place like no other, rich in history and images. Rich in subject matter for my artwork.
I have sometimes wondered if I live here because of the work I do, or if I do the work because I live here. An interesting question without an answer. I do know for certain that this work is a direct result of my experiences in this place I call home.
Peaks I've climbed, wildlife I've pursued, people I've loved, the sound of the wind and the drums, the smell of a lodge campfire, these experiences make up my stronghold of inspiration. I don't believe I could have created the art if I had not first lived the life. Montana - her people, places, and animals are my muse.
