Golightly writes: "One of the most enriching experiences in life has got to be living your truth, being as unapologetically genuine as you possibly can and going into all your relations with others with the kind of care you want for yourself and the people you love. We're here for such a relatively short time... why would you want to live any other way? There have been times in my life when I held parts of myself back from people I cared for. For self-preservation, self-care, shame or whatever the reasons, I felt there were always things inside that needed to stay there. But at the same time, I feel that we can never be fully happy or loved if we haven't allowed people the opportunity to know who we are. It's not easy. Very few of the best things we can do for ourselves are, though. I'm so thankful for the people (and other sentient beings) in my life who have shared themselves and their lives with me and given me the opportunity to do the same."
